Week Three | Greens Galore & Spring’s First Asparagus

Stone Hollow Farmstead

Spring has exploded here at the farm — and we’re soaking up every minute of it. After yesterday’s rain, everything feels greener, lusher, and more alive. Our flower cooler is officially overflowing with fragrant jonquils, and we’re sending a bundle your way as part of this week’s CSA share. These sweet blooms mark the beginning of the season for us — and though their time is short, their beauty is something we look forward to all year. We hope they brighten your home as much as they’ve brightened our fields.

We’re also in the thick of packing and shipping dahlia tubers, a five-week process that has every hand on deck — and next up, rooted cuttings! It’s a busy season, but one that reminds us why we love this work so much: new growth, new beginnings, and sharing the bounty with all of you.

This week’s share is full of vibrant greens — arugula, premium salad mix, pea shoots, and Swiss chard — and over the next few weeks, you may feel like you're swimming in salad. That’s by design! These early-season greens are fleeting, so soak them up while you can. Pile them high for fresh salads, sauté them with garlic, or layer them into sandwiches on your fresh French batard. It’s a short, beautiful window of flavor — let’s savor it.
