What is CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture, CSA, is a valuable program that helps to directly connect organic and healthy produce from our farm and local farms, to your kitchen. Stone Hollow Farmstead began its CSA program in Spring of 2014 to share our love for eating fresh with our valued friends and clients.

 

How does our CSA work?

Our membership celebrates the best of the Spring and early Summer growing seasons going from March 28 to June 6! Every Tuesday, produce and food items are selected from Stone Hollow Farmstead and local and regional farms, then gathered and prepared for pickup at FarmStand.

Purchasing a CSA Share from Stone Hollow Farmstead means supporting local and regional farms. The farming community thrives by coexisting. Our partnerships with other farms allow us to provide the community with fresh, seasonal foods. No two weeks are the same. We take pride in keeping the shares diverse and exciting, all while supporting local farms.

 

What can you expect?

Enjoy a weekly farm box filled with organically or locally grown veggies, beautifully preserved food in jars, fresh fruits, eggs, and bread — all from our farm and other local farmer friends. This year we are offering a one-size-fits-most families box — this farm box will feed 2 to 4 people comfortably. The first ten weeks will include many beautiful spring vegetables and salad greens, but note we will not overwhelm you with salad greens. This share will include our rainbow eggs and fresh bread from Hinkle’s Bakery, no add-on is needed.

We will help guide you every step of the way. Each week is carefully curated with recipes crafted to deliver delicious meals through our weekly CSA blog post published every Tuesday in tandem with your pick-up.

 

When and where is pick-up?

Pick-up day is Tuesday at FarmStand at Pepper Place from noon-6pm every week.

 

What if I miss picking up my share one week?

We encourage 24-hour notifications by calling 205-777-5558 if you are unable to pick up a share. If you miss a week, we will offer up a voucher for you to be able to use another week.
