WEEK NINE | Spring Showers, Mother’s Day Preparations, and Fresh Harvests

Welcome back to our weekly CSA update! As we approach the heart of spring at Stone Hollow Farmstead, our farm is a lush, vibrant tableau, thanks to the season's generous rains. Even our "day of rest" this Sunday was accompanied by a torrential downpour, which, far from dampening our spirits, has only invigorated the gardens. Everything is lush and green, and our jasmine, draping the front of the barn, is particularly thriving, its fragrance a sweet reminder of the season's joy.

As we continue our work with the dahlias, we're happy to report that the cuttings we've nurtured for months are now ready to ship off to their new homes. The process of shipping them off is always bittersweet, as we bid farewell to each plant and wish it well on its journey.

With Mother’s Day around the corner, our teams at Stone Hollow and FarmStand, our outpost located at Pepper Place, are in full swing. We're busy cutting flowers, crafting bouquets, and preparing gift boxes. For those in search of the perfect gift, we offer in-store pickup and delivery options—right to your house or your mom's! Don't forget to check out our special Mother's Day offerings here and share it with friends looking for something special.

This week’s CSA box is brimming with the fruits (and vegetables!) of our labor:

  • From Our Farm: Crunchy Carrots, Bunching Onions, peppery Arugula, the ever-popular Elegance Mix, vibrant Rainbow Eggs, sharp Red Radishes, and juicy Strawberries.
  • From Our Friends: Tender Asparagus from Habersham Farm, aromatic Rosemary Bread from Hinkel's Bakery, fresh Squash from Dothan, sweet Lady Peas from Georgia, and earthy New Potatoes also from Georgia.

These ingredients are perfect for whipping up quick, delicious sautéed vegetable plates that our family has been enjoying all spring. It's a simple pleasure that epitomizes the bounty and beauty of the season.
